How to get started with Garmin (step-by-step)
Step 1 — Install the SKISENS app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store
- Open the Garmin Connect IQ Store on your phone.
- Search for SKISENS.
- Install the app to your Garmin watch.
Step 2 — Update your SKISENS grips firmware
- Open the SKISENS mobile app. (Download at App Store or Google Play Store)
- Connect your SKISENS smart XC-grips.
- Go to Profile → Firmware Update.
- Update to the latest firmware version.
Step 3 — Pair SKISENS grips with your Garmin watch
- Open the SKISENS app on your Garmin watch.
- Go to Manage sensors → Connect sensors
- Select and connect to your SKISENS sensors.
Step 4 — Authorize Garmin Connect sync into SKISENS (important)
To import training sessions from Garmin Connect into the SKISENS ecosystem, you must
connect and authorize your Garmin account.
Authorize Garmin in SKISENS (choose one):
- In the SKISENS phone app: Profile → App Connections → Garmin → Connect & Authorize
- On the SKISENS web platform: app.skisens.com → Profile → App Connections → Garmin → Connect & Authorize
After authorization, your Garmin sessions will sync automatically to SKISENS for analysis.
How Garmin data sync works
- You record a workout using your Garmin watch with SKISENS sensors.
- The session is saved in Garmin Connect.
- Once authorized, the session is imported automatically into SKISENS.
- You analyze power, technique, and trends in the SKISENS app and web dashboard.

Do I need my phone during training?
No. You can view live SKISENS data on your Garmin watch. The phone is mainly used for setup, firmware updates, and account authorization.
Why do I need to authorize Garmin Connect?
Authorization lets SKISENS import your sessions from Garmin Connect into the SKISENS ecosystem automatically.
Can I import older Garmin sessions?
After authorization, SKISENS can import historical up to 30 days and new training sessions via Garmin’s API.
Where do I enable the Garmin connection in SKISENS?
You can authorize in the SKISENS app (Profile → App Connections) or on the SKISENS web platform (Profile → App Connections).
