Do you train on a treadmill? Maybe to avoid bad weather – or because you’ve already discovered how powerful it can be for controlling your training.
With SKISENS, you gain full control of your treadmill training. The system reads speed and incline in real time and combines this with your other training data – heart rate, power, and ski-specific metrics from our smart grips, as well as values such as lactate or VO₂.
You can immediately see how hard you’re working and adjust your effort during the session. In the live interface, you get a clear view of your load – down to each individual poling stroke – making it easy to maintain the right intensity.
With the help of our metabolic model(Skiing Power.pdf), you can also control speed and incline to achieve your exact desired load. This makes it easier to create sessions with consistent intensity, even when the terrain varies, resulting in higher quality in every training session.
Want to take it even further? Upload a GPX file and train in the same terrain as outdoors. The system then adjusts the load so you can prepare specifically for your next goal – whether it’s Vasaloppet, national championships, or international races.

It’s also easy to create, perform, and evaluate reference sessions and tests – on your own or together with a coach.
For those who regularly train on a treadmill, it ultimately comes down to getting more out of every session – with better overview, clearer control, and more consistent training quality.
To get started, you need a treadmill that can be connected. Many models, such as Abilica and Normill, offer direct support. For others, like Rodby, we provide a gateway that connects the treadmill to SKISENS.
If you don’t have access to a treadmill, the system also works with a SkiErg – a great alternative, although the treadmill provides the most ski-specific experience.
