It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Skisens website. Here you will find technology designed to help you become a better skier. Skisens develops and sells a smart ski-pole grip that measures force and pole angle in real time. The information is processed inside the grip and transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone or sports watch, where forward propulsion power is calculated.
By training with power, you can precisely control the intensity of your training and closely track your development. Power is an effort-neutral metric of work capacity and is just as useful for short anaerobic bursts as for longer aerobic efforts. Based on force and angle data, our grips also offer a unique opportunity to analyze your double-poling technique.
After thousands of hours of development, testing, and countless prototypes, we are expecting delivery this fall of a limited batch of grips that meet the accuracy, durability, lifespan, and comfort requirements that we consider essential for elite-level skiers to truly benefit from the technology in their training.
These grips will be distributed in September to skiers in collaboration with our partners. To spread awareness of how our grips are revolutionizing the ability to control and evaluate training, we will share on this page various examples of measurements made with the grips, along with scientific discussions that illustrate the advantages of our measurement methods compared to conventional approaches for intensity control and technique analysis. Foundational theory can be found on our Q&A page, which is continuously updated with new insights.
While we wait for data from the new grips to begin flowing in, this newsletter will cover measurements made with earlier prototypes.
Feel free to contact us for more information about our partner program.
